AN INVITATION TO
SIX MEETINGS WITH JOSEPH CAMPBELL
At Beach United Church
You are cordially invited to attend six evenings with Dick Allan to look at the PBS series called
The Power of Myth
. These one hour programs feature Bill Moyers interviewing Joseph Campbell who explains how the World’s Myths operate in helping humanity formulate a view of themselves and the world. He illustrates the universal patterns evident in the myths and how they can still be relevant to our modern era.
The six programs will be screened in the parlour at Beach United Church on Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm to no later than 9:00pm.
The following list gives the titles and dates of the programs:
The Hero’s Adventure
- April 5
The Message of the Myth
- April 12
The First Storytellers
- April 19
Sacrifice and Bliss
- April 26
Love and the Goddess
- May 3
Masks of Eternity
- May 10
Discussion will occur during and after each viewing.
Each program is independent of each other which allows one to miss one without consequence.
Note: Taking notes definitely helps you keep track of what is said.
For more information phone Dick Allan at 416-698-8614.
