Interfaith Lunch Program
Beach Interfaith Lunch Program
Beach United Church provides lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the winter, spring and fall, taking a hiatus through the summer months, resuming after Thanksgiving.
The Beach Interfaith Lunch Program is a drop-in lunch that takes place at different church locations throughout the week, offering a nutritious meal and fellowship to low income, homeless friends, or anyone who is hungry. All programs run from 11:00am to 1:00pm October to May.
Mondays: Corpus Christi Catholic Church
16 Lockwood Road (3 blocks west of Woodbine Ave. north of Queen St. E.)
Tuesdays: Beach United Church
140 Wineva Avenue (9 blocks east of Woodbine Ave. north of Queen St. E.)
Wednesdays at Beaches Hebrew Institute
109 Kenilworth Avenue (2 blocks east of Woodbine Ave. south of Queen St. E.)
Thursdays at Beach United Church
Fridays at Kingston Road United Church
975 Kingston Road (3 blocks west of Victoria Pk. Ave.)
Volunteers are always needed. Donations of non-perishable food items and clothes are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off at the church office during business hours.
Outreach Committee
The Beach Interfaith Outreach Committee consists of eight east-end places of worship who meet monthly to keep in touch with each other and share individual activities. It also provides a forum for feedback on how the drop in lunch programs are going and to bring ideas on other tasks we could take on to assist our community.
